Reasons I love the Western Montana Fair!
With the 2010 Western Montana Fair currently going on in Missoula, I wanted to take a brief moment and talk about why
we at Gen One love the fair and our fund raising booth. It is always a busy season as Summer winds down and we can
see school kicking back off in the near future, but one of our most important weeks of the year is during the Western Montana
Fair in August. Here are a few reasons I love the fair:
- We only have to do one BIG fundraiser for the whole year! NO selling useless items, car washes, or other silly things, ONE fundraiser for the year
- This one fundraiser allows us to provide scholarships for Camp Fuego, Vision, Mission Trips and so much more
- All of our supplies, and even improvements for our ministries is raised in this one week of hard work
- We get to raise money outside of the church walls. We never want to continually ask for money from those who call our church home. This allows us to find funding elsewhere.
- It’s a great time to spend time with people! Fair week is often the largest chunk of time we will spend with the students of the ministry, and allows us to just be with others
- It’s amazing the people you run into at the fair…some who have slipped to the fringes, been busy in Summer, or we may have lost track of. The fair allows many divine appointments for ministry
- In the community. Part of our calling as a church is to be “in the world.” The fair is a great time being in our community, serving our community, and enjoying people
- I’m continually blessed by those who serve without hesitancy and beyond my imagination. Every year students, families, and leaders step up to help the cause of Christ in Missoula.
- It is always a joy to see our church family serve others with joy and great attitudes. We are always spoken very well of, and provide great service to people. Our tip jars overflow daily!
